London and the M25: Infra-Red Poster & Map - £14.99
(Code: LON-IRD-PO)
This full colour poster of Greater London recorded
at the end of the 20th Century, is available for £14.99.
It shows London and the M25 created from infra-red light not
visible to the human eye, enhancing subtle land cover information
and providing a brand new outlook on the capital.
This infra-red image highlights a wide range
of different aspects of London and surrounding towns, including
urban structures, woodland, golf courses, water bodies and agricultural
patterns. It was made using data from the Enhanced Thematic Mapper
sensor on the Landsat 7 satellite, which orbits the Earth from
space at a height of 700km, and is capable of seeing objects
just 15m across. See a full resolution
sample.
Included in the cost of the poster, you will
receive a Philip's 1:100,000 road and tourist map. Having the
same coverage and scale as the poster, this map ensures simple
and accurate identification of features of interest in the corresponding
satellite image.
This poster and map combination makes an attractive
and informative wall decoration for the home, office or school,
and make an ideal gift for anyone with scientific curiosity!
