London and the M25: Infra-Red Poster & Map - £14.99 (Code: LON-IRD-PO)

This full colour poster of Greater London recorded at the end of the 20th Century, is available for £14.99. It shows London and the M25 created from infra-red light not visible to the human eye, enhancing subtle land cover information and providing a brand new outlook on the capital.

This infra-red image highlights a wide range of different aspects of London and surrounding towns, including urban structures, woodland, golf courses, water bodies and agricultural patterns. It was made using data from the Enhanced Thematic Mapper sensor on the Landsat 7 satellite, which orbits the Earth from space at a height of 700km, and is capable of seeing objects just 15m across. See a full resolution sample.

Included in the cost of the poster, you will receive a Philip's 1:100,000 road and tourist map. Having the same coverage and scale as the poster, this map ensures simple and accurate identification of features of interest in the corresponding satellite image.

This poster and map combination makes an attractive and informative wall decoration for the home, office or school, and make an ideal gift for anyone with scientific curiosity!

TNT Lite CD: Software from MicroImages  £5.00 (Product Code: TNT-LGT-CD)

TNTmips is used in more than 120 nations around the world for geographic information analysis (GIS), advanced image processing, CAD, desktop mapping, electronic atlas preparation and other spatial database management and visualisation applications. System features include: full raster processing (with the fastest display of any system), full vector processing, 2D and 3D visualisation (including rendering of elevation models), integral relational databases, the largest list of format translators available on any system, stereo-to-DEM creation and full cartographic layout functions. TNTmips offers a level of data and process integration unmatched by any other professional system.

Prices for TNTmips start at £2,220 for complete functionality on a PC – considerably less than the tens of thousands of pounds or so that would have to spent to equal its capability by any other systems. TNTlite offers exactly the same functionality as the professional TNTmips, but prevents the use of larger files (e.g. rasters no bigger than 512 x 512) – ideal for evaluating the software before buying the full version. You can download TNTlite for free from the MicroImages site (34Mb WINDOWS 9x/NT/2000, Power Macintosh or most Unix systems including LINUX), or buy it here (WINDOWS 9x/NT/2000 or Power Macintosh only) for just £5 + p&p.
