Comments
The
image shows displacement contours derived from the differential
interferogram (inset) for the Dinar Earthquake, Turkey
(01-Oct-95, magnitude 6.1) over Landsat TM bands 7-4-2
R-G-B background. The red, yellow and green fringe regions
indicate respectively high, medium and low displacement
intensity as interpreted from the interferogram.
The town of Dinar is located some 3km east of the high
intensity displacement region. The earthquake caused
extensive damage to the town and killed 92 people. A
maximum line-of-sight displacement of the order of 560mm
was measured using interferometry.
