Oil seeps are valuable indicators that new or under-explored parts of offshore basins contain a mature source and hence help risk reduction at an early stage. NPA and TREICoL (joint venture partner) are presently two thirds of the way through an ambitious programme to screen all of the world's offshore basins for oil seeps (Global Offshore Seep Project). This programme has extensive support from the oil industry including many of the majors.

N.B. Please note that the twelve coloured regions shown here are arbitrary divisions for website purposes only. NPA's entire Global Offshore Seep Database (GOSD) has been compiled as a single ArcView project with full flexibility in scene selection.
