The
NE-SW trending Euphrates graben is constrained in the
south by the stable Rutbah Arch, refocusing extension
along the ENE trending Anah graben. Sinistral strike-slip
movement during the Lower Cretaceous led to the formation
of a series of graben in a 'dog-leg' pull-apart region,
brought out here by bespoke processed and enhanced Landsat
TM data. |
